Increase my DBS holding with a value of $74,815.700 hence bought more shares to average down the cost, instead position myself by investing significant capital in one lump sum.
The recent Swiber collapse, it’s a hit to DBS share price and raise a concern on the bank exposure to the oil & gas sector. Due to years of low oil price, this has greatly depressed the sector and should this situation continue to prolong, likely we are going to see more relevant companies to implode. Hopefully, there will be positive action undertake by OPEC this coming meeting.
Apart from that, due to the global economic weakness includes the post Brexit handling, coming US presidential election and others. The Fed might raise the interest rate during the year end or there’s a possibility without a raise. Generally, with the current low interest rate, it actually affects the bank interest margin.
I will still continue to invest in DBS and monitor it. There could also be a possibility, I will consider to sell it at a loss subjected to the market conditions, which will affect the banks.
